Coach Hellard Named Ontario Elite
Male Long Course Triathlete of the Year.
Based on his 2006 season, within which he finished 2nd 40-44yr
old at Muskoka, then won his 3rd K-Town Long Course Triathlon,
the Brockville Olympic Distance Triathlon in 2:01, and then posted
an awesome 8:41:14 for the Esprit Iron Distance Triathlon in Montreal,
Hellard has won the award for the first time in his 25 year career.
Hellard used to say his fastest times were well out of reach,
but that he still tries really hard, and that hes there to help
his clients achieve their potential.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever!
And then came Sept 16th, 2006 and where he popped an unbelievable
8:41:14 Iron Distance race at the Esprit Triathlon in Montreal.
This was a whopping 41min better than his best time, and for a
guy that had already gone 9:23, thats really something. And to
add encouragement to everyone, he turned 40 this year!!
